[IC, open to all] Thor Fight Club

It's a beautiful spring day in the Nexus, rolling green hills boasting bright splashes of color where flowers have blossomed in all their glory, birds singing in trees sheltered with new green growth, and the sun is shining merrily through puffy white clouds, the breeze only a little on the cool side.

In one of the flatter fields out towards the Wilds, however, things are not quite so peaceful at the moment.

There's an enormous rough ring marked out with scorch marks in the grass, large enough to rival the gladiator arena on Sakaar, and on the edge of the ring there's a cloth laid out with a small variety of weapons that look... well, very second-hand, to put it mildly. But enough to give a good selection of swords or axes or hammers, with a shield or two for protective options.

Thor stands to one side, checking his armor to make sure it's securely fitted before battle, training session or not, and can't quite chase away the grin on his face in favor of a more serious, kingly expression that he probably should be wearing. Learning to compensate for his missing eye is a matter of life and death, probably, whether his or someone else's, but he can't help but feel excited to face something other than a half-assed training dummy shoved into the corner of the cargo hold.

Right, then, who's up for a little sparring with the god of thunder?

Once he'd recovered enough, and the portals thawed, Miles had headed home. Partly to reassure Ganke that he was alright, and partly to get supplies to help everyone out while the Nexus was recovering. Multivitamins, medicines for those still ill, things of that nature.

But things happened back home as they always did and he found himself conflicted on what to do, how to feel about it. So he'd returned again to the Nexus. Figured it would be good to get that separation to think about things. Not to mention the fact that he had people here he could talk to if it came to that, and being around Peter tended to pick his mood up pretty handily, even without the beautiful spring weather to do the same.

Anyone near the sparring ring might notice the teen in the black and red spider costume. He'd heard about the sparring while he'd been patrolling and was curious. Figured it would be fun to watch people square off and who knew? Maybe he'd throw his hat in the ring. It was all in good fun it looked like, and what better way to keep his skills sharp? Practice made perfect after all.

They had met! Just as Miles the kid and Thor, not Miles the Spider-Man. And he was a bit shorter than the other, costume differences aside. (What, he hadn't hit his growth spurt yet!)

"Dude, I'm pretty sure you could mop the ring with me, but I'm down for giving it a go!" Who wouldn't take a chance for a friendly round with Thor given half a chance? Not this little spider, that's for sure.

"No thanks then I become the Amazing Self-Mopping Spider-Man and that's just a whole new level of embarrassing I've thankfully avoided hitting just yet. Kinda down for continuing the trend, you know?"

But he seemed game to give things a go, headed for the ring even if he was pretty sure he was going to get his ass handed to him. It'd still be a learning experience and some of those where it wasn't a life or death situation sounded good.

"Besides, I don't really use weapons in general, other than y'know, these," Holding up his hands, it's hard to say if he means his fists, or his webshooters, but either one works! "What're the rules?"

"Yeah I figure friendly fights come with less maiming in general!" That got a slow laugh from Miles, even if the noise was a bit more nervous sounding. But there was no way he was backing off from a chance to throw down with Thor, that much was for sure.

"I use the webs when I've got em, yeah. Just got them refilled, but more often than not I'm out of fluid, big surprise there with my luck." It looked like all Spider-Kids rambled in some way or another, Thor. Was it part of the powers or something? "I've got my camouflage and venom strike too though!"

"Hey, man. I didn't see you show up."

Peter hasn't been lingering around for long himself but his fascination with his super-hero elders meant that inevitably he was drawn over to see what all the fuss was about. It's not every day he gets a chance to watch or practice some moves in relative safety so he's thinking about sticking around.

Doubly so if his Spider-Bro is here.

"Hey dude." Peter was greeted with a cheery tone, Miles moving closer to chat, one hand gesturing towards the ring. "Just showed up! They were talking about this at the clinic, of course I had to come scope out the fun."

A tilt of his head towards his bro, something amused in the gesture. "You gonna take him on?"

"Are you kidding? He could probably bench press a planet in half."

There's a pause that's just long enough that Miles might think that Peter has had a momentary case of sound wise judgement about his odds of facing off against a literal god. So of course Peter keeps talking.

"Of course I'm gonna go! Might learn something." Come off it, Parker. You just want to say you fought with Thor later.

Oh good. Miles was worried there for a moment. It wasn't quite on the Spider-Man brand to have such wise judgement of a situation. So instead Peter would hear the grin in his voice as a hand moved to clap his shoulder.

"Dude, me too." Let's be real who wouldn't in this situation? "We should totally warm up though. Spider-vs-Spider?"

A friendly spar sounded like it could be fun, and he was curious to see how he'd fare against Peter anyways.

Peter pulls his mask up just long enough for Miles to catch the grin that's spreading across his face before he pulls it back down firmly into place. He leans into the hand on his shoulder. Chuckles just a bit.

"Spider on spider action. The fight of the century!"

Two clueless kids slapfighting but with webs involved. "I've kind of wanted to see if my taser webs would hold up against your shock move-thing anyhow."
