NOT PHASE 4 COMPLIANT. Endgame was an utter shitshow that soured the MCU for me so badly that I am not watching phase 4, and it will never play a part in how I progress this character.

Roleplaying journal for [community profile] nexus_crossings. This iteration of Thor belongs to Marvel Studios. He is now fully through an alternate Endgame. (If played on other communities, especially meme comms, I am flexible on if he's canon up until Endgame or not. However, I will not participate in Endgame-canon threads where he's being fatshamed. I have not watched any MCU content past Spider-Man Far From Home, and I do not intend to. I don't care if I'm spoiled for it, and I refuse to acknowledge any of it as canon for Thor. As far as I am concerned, there is no Sylvie, no Eternals, and definitely no Thor Love and Thunder. It does not exist in his continuity at all. This includes any and all retcons introduced after phase 3. Also, the MCU is NOT the 616 universe; whoever at Disney decided to call it that is just mad that they don't own it and aren't considered the default. The MCU has been designated 19999 since 2008.)

Is canon-divergent starting at Infinity War! There is also an aspect of his character development in Endgame that I do not intend to play out; see this disclaimer for my reasons. His Endgame ending is also going to be very different, and will not follow the MCU moving forward from that point.

Brief tl;dr of the differences: The timespan between Ragnarok and Infinity War lasted several months, during which Thor established a small supply train from the Nexus to feed his people, which was disrupted when the Winter Storm locked down the portals until spring. During Thanos' assault on the Statesman, Thor's left arm was traumatically amputated in battle, and several hundred Asgardian children and widows were saved by evacuating to the Nexus, in addition to the half that Thanos spared. The rest of Infinity War played out much as it did in canon, with the exception of Rocket's gift to Thor being an arm instead of an eye (he still wears the eyepatch to this day). After the Snap, Thor was looked after by friends and gifted a prosthesis built by Hephaestus, and he developed a serious drinking problem alongside healthier coping mechanisms such as nurturing his fertility magic by building a greenhouse, thus contributing to feeding his people as they established a settlement in Asvera (formerly Henningsvaer, Norway). Among other changes to Endgame, the so-called Time Heist involved stable temporal loops instead of multiverse travel, Steve Rogers was killed in the battle against Thanos, and Tony Stark used the stones to mindwipe Thanos and kick his armies back in time where they belonged. Thor still lives in Norway as king and Allfather, and has received visions of Yggdrasil in which deceased friends and family swore him to the king's oaths and gifted him a pair of raven eggs, Huginn and Muninn's reincarnations, who he's named Huggan and Miskunn (Comfort and Mercy). Thor is currently struggling to quit drinking, and seeking a quieter life where he can get away from the horrors of war and learn to manage his PTSD more successfully.
