[OOC] Profile meme

1. What does their bedroom look like?
Thor's bedroom is relatively small, and the walls and ceiling are a cream off-white in color. He has a few framed Hubble space photographs on his walls, and a south-facing window above the bed that is equipped with blackout curtains. Aside from an armoire, the bed, and a mostly-empty bookshelf, he doesn't have any other furniture in his bedroom.

2. Do they have any daily rituals?
The one part of the day Thor looks forward to most is spending at least an hour in the greenhouse every afternoon. He also tends to bless the field by his house when he returns home at the end of the day. At the moment, one of his nightly rituals is also making himself a drink before bed, often to excess.

3. Do they exercise, and if so, what do they do? How often?
Not at the moment. In the past, Thor has had a habit of running daily battle drills with his weapon of choice, or sparring against other warriors. He hasn't picked up his axe for combat purposes, lethal or otherwise, since the final battle against Thanos. The most exercise he tends to get is walking the length of the village.

4. What would they do if they needed to make dinner but the kitchen was busy?
He would just grab something ready to eat, or order a pizza delivery. In the past, he's had many meals consisting of bread, cheese, and salted meat, so simple fare doesn't bother him.

5. Cleanliness habits (personal, workspace, etc.)
Not nearly as good as they should be, but his house is better than it was when he was in the deepest part of his depression. He only tends to sweep once a month or so and he's never cleaned his windows once, but he tries to get rid of clutter at least once a week and he has a washer woman in the village do his laundry when he starts to run out of clean clothes. His workspace at the admin center is fairly neat, if only because he spends so little time there and they have staff to keep things organized. His workspace in the greenhouse is also kept decently tidy through actual effort on his part, besides the dirt everywhere.
His hygiene is also better than it was when his mental health was at its worst, but still has room for improvement. There are occasional days when he skips showers because he doesn't have the energy and he doesn't always brush his hair and beard either. He tends to keep both in braids so it's a little less obvious if he hasn't tended to them that day.

6. Eating habits and sample daily menu
Thor is used to big meals, both as something he sits down to as well as constant snacking throughout the day. He's not very good at cooking, especially when it comes to Earth foods, so he tends to stick to easier dishes like coldcut sandwiches or pizza if he has to fend for himself, which is often. At the moment, much of his meals are also heavily supplemented by dwarven mead, or some other powerful alcohol.

7. Favorite way to waste time and feelings surrounding wasting time
Watching TV, mostly. He tells himself it's a necessary thing because it's helping him learn more about Earth but really it's because he has a hard time getting back into his old hobbies, and his current mental health struggles are easier to cope with when he can tune out and go on autopilot for a bit.

8. Favorite indulgence and feelings surrounding indulging
Alcohol, to the point of excess even for an Asgardian. At this immediate moment, he's convinced it isn't a problem, and that using it to cope is helping him.

9. Makeup?
None.

10. Neuroses? Do they recognize them as such?
Oh lord yes. Thor is currently struggling with PTSD and depression, though he has recently been making some headway in gaining control over his life. He is also grappling with alcoholism, but does not yet recognize the severity of the problem.

11. Intellectual pursuits?
Hands-on cultural research, usually in the form of watching movies or television, and eating new local foods.

12. Favorite book genre?
Thor isn't much of a reader in general, but he's enjoyed high fantasy fiction on occasion.

13. Sexual Orientation? And, regardless of own orientation, thoughts on sexual orientation in general?
Asgardians have cultural hangups in regards to gender identity, but sexual orientation is viewed as entirely separate from that, unlike many human cultures. Thor wouldn't know how to classify himself in Earth terms and wouldn't really understand why it matters. He's roughly the equivalent of a Kinsey 2, mostly interested in women but not exclusively so. The only political baggage he'd tie to his choice of partner is the expectation to produce an heir to the throne.

14. Physical abnormalities? (Both visible and not, including injuries/disabilities, long-term illnesses, food-intolerances, etc.)
Thor's right eye was destroyed by Hela's sword during the final battle of Ragnarok. He keeps the empty socket covered with a black eyepatch, but he still has a visible scar from cheekbone to forehead. His left arm was severed midway through the biceps during the massacre on the Statesman. He wears an onyx prosthetic crafted by Hephaestus most of the time, which functions as naturally as his living arm did, except for the ability to feel pain. Thor has a few other minor scars in various locations on his body from adventures in his youth, the most notable of which is a faded line that circles his right wrist and is typically only visible if he has tanned in the sun.

15. Biggest and smallest short term goal?
Biggest: Village cohesion between the Asgardians and the humans.
Smallest: Make it a month without any major setbacks in his mental health recovery.

16. Biggest and smallest long term goal?
Biggest: Stability for his people in their new home on Earth.
Smallest: Start a family someday.

17. Preferred mode of dress and rituals surrounding dress
Thor likes soft fabrics and dressing for comfort, which usually manifests as sweaters and hoodies. When he needs to dress formally, he prefers armor with a cape. He doesn't have many rituals per se, unless you count magically summoning his armor.

18. Favorite beverage?
Dwarven mead.

19. What do they think about before falling asleep at night?
He tries to purposefully think of the good things that happened that day, as part of his therapy. Sometimes he doesn't have such good luck getting rid of the bad thoughts, and those are usually the nights he drinks the most before bed.

20. Childhood illnesses? Any interesting stories behind them?
Not many. Asgardians don't get sick terribly often, and their healing magic usually prevents illnesses from becoming too severe, though there are exceptions. Thor had a few run-of-the-mill bouts of the Asgardian equivalent of the flu when he was a youngster.

21. Turn-ons? Turn-offs?
Turn-ons: scientific intelligence, bravery, and competence in battle. He's also typically into people who are shorter than himself.
Turn-offs: lack of empathy, boasting about things you didn't do

22. Given a blank piece of paper, a pencil, and nothing to do, what would happen?
He'd probably doodle whatever came to mind. He's not a very good artist, so we're talking stick figures and so forth.

23. How organized are they? How does this organization/disorganization manifest in their everyday life?
Poorly. Between being raised with servants who picked up after him and his more recent depressive episode, he tends to "organize" his things in vague piles, if anything. He is making more of an effort now, but he still has a lot of work to do.

24. Is there one subject of study that they excel at? Or do they even care about intellectual pursuits at all?
Weapons training and practical combat. He's had a renewed interest in gardening lately though, and has been studying it on his own.

25. How do they see themselves 5 years from today?
Thor has a difficult time imagining the future at all, right now. He's learning to accept that he has one, however, and just being alive is goals enough for him.

26. Do they have any plans for the future? Any contingency plans if things don’t workout?
Not really, besides the general goal of looking after his people.

27. What is their biggest regret?
Goes without saying that not killing Thanos in Wakanda is the regret that haunts Thor the most.

28. Who do they see as their best friend? Their worst enemy?
Best friend: Harley Quinn, though he has several close seconds, now. (And if alternate universe adopted brothers count, Loki tops the list entirely.)
Worst enemy: Thanos, even though he's dead now

29. Reaction to sudden extrapersonal disaster (eg The house is on fire! What do they do?)
If it's something he can take action against, Thor would be one of the first to try. If not, he might end up freaking out and possibly having a panic attack.

30. Reaction to sudden intrapersonal disaster (eg close family member suddenly dies)
Mental shutdown, and way too much alcohol.

31. Most prized possession?
The fulgurite pendant that Loki gave him at Yule. It's enchanted so that if Thor channels a little magic through it, it plays a recording of the two of them drunkenly singing "Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better."

32. Thoughts on material possessions in general?
He used to have a lot, collected over the course of centuries, but now he thinks it was pretty silly to hang onto so many things he didn't need. Thor is into sentimental keepsakes and practical possessions both.

33. Concept of home and family?
Until recently, Thor's sense of home was very much tied to the physical location of Asgard, and was something he generally viewed as eternal and always available to him. Since Asgard was destroyed, he has struggled to make a sense of home for himself on Earth, and is slowly settling in to the idea of claiming a place for himself and making it his own. Family, too, was something he'd once viewed as immutable and forever, but now that he's the only living member, it makes him cling all the harder to any versions of his family that he might come across in the Nexus, even those not related by blood. He wants children of his own someday but other than that, he has no particular partner in mind at the moment.

34. Thoughts on privacy? (Are they a private person, or are they prone to ‘TMI’?)
Depends on what kind of privacy. Thor tends to wear his heart on his sleeve but will often keep his hurts to himself, to the point of withdrawing from society. But he is also very much a people person, and will happily talk to people about a lot of things that don't strike so close to his heart.

35. What activities do they enjoy, but consider to be a waste of time?
Watching television.

36. What makes them feel guilty?
Anything whatsoever related to the Snap, or the massacre on the Statesman. Thor's guilt stems mostly from his inability to protect the people who died, as well as from being the only survivor of the massacred half of the refugees, and surviving the Snap itself.

37. Are they more analytical or more emotional in their decision-making?
Emotional, for the most part. Over the past decade he's managed to keep his cool when confronted with big decisions and try to think through them logically, but Thor's decision-making is largely driven by his heart and not his head.

38. Would they consider themselves a Type A or Type B personality?
Type A, absolutely.

39. What recharges them when they’re feeling drained?
Being in the company of friends, especially doing a light activity together such as sparring or card games.

40. Would you say that they have a superiority-complex? Inferiority-complex? Neither?
Inferiority complex, definitely. Thor was raised by a father with high expectations for his sons, which were often incredibly difficult to meet. This was only compounded further when Odin enchanted Mjolnir to be held only by those who are worthy, and Thor found himself unable to lift it for a time. His self-worth is somewhat unhealthily tied to the hammer's judgment, even after having been found worthy after what he sees as his greatest failure. He also has a bad habit of comparing himself to Odin at his peak, and struggles to accept that he does not have to be an exact copy of his father to be successful.

41. How misanthropic are they?
Not at all. Thor loves people, and humans in particular. If he doesn't like someone, he generally has a specific reason.

42. Hobbies?
Lately, gardening and farming. Asvera's space for growing crops is very limited, but Thor enjoys having a small personal scale to tend to instead of a large agricultural operation. Right now he's focused more on practical crops like vegetables and herbs, but he's slowly including purely decorative plants like flowers.

43. How far did they get in formal education? What are their views on formal education vs self-education?
Thor's childhood education was mostly delivered through tutors and other one-on-one specialized teaching, as was tradition with the royal family. He finds hands-on experience is often best for understanding something, at least for himself. Self-teaching is absolutely fine as long as one properly applies themselves to study.

44. Religion?
Technically Norse pagan, though he is one of the gods in the pantheon. Asgardians typically don't pray to each other while alive, but prayers to the ancestors (especially the Allfathers, in Thor's case) are uncommon but normal.

45. Superstitions or views on the occult?
Such things are fairly normal in Asgardian culture, particularly among seidr users. Magic and unknowable forces are an accepted part of reality, and though Thor may not understand or know of all the nuances that a sorcerer would, he tends to take such rituals at face value.

46. Do they express their thoughts through words or deeds?
Deeds, for the most part.

47. If they were to fall in love, who (or what) is their ideal?
Intelligent, fierce, probably shorter than him.

48. How do they express love?
Physical contact and closeness, as well as gifts when the mood strikes. This applies to both romantic and familial forms of love.

49. If this person were to get into a fist fight, what is their fighting style like?
Thor is used to using his size and strength to his advantage, and tends to go for quick heavy blows. When he fights someone hand to hand, his goal is to disable his opponent as swiftly as possible.

50. Is this person afraid of dying? Why or why not?
It's complicated. After losing most of his people to Thanos' massacre and then the Snap, Thor was passively suicidal for a long time; he never made any attempts to take his own life but thought about it often. At the same time, he was afraid to die because he believed that he would not go to Valhalla and be reunited with his family. These days he is doing better mentally and no longer believes Valhalla is closed to him, but he also isn't in a huge hurry to die because of the good he can still do while he's king of Asgard. He may still think about it during future depressive episodes, however.
